Apple ships faster than expected MacBook Pro

Apple on Tuesday shipped its recently introduced Intel-based MacBook Pro, surprising customers with processors speeds that are faster than previously announced. The new laptops are available beginning this week with speeds up to 2.16GHz.http://news.yahoo.com/s/macworld/200...ookpro20060214

I'm trying to find an angle with which to approach (and convince, obviously) Liz that she should let me get one of these. I tried the "Honey, the kid's laptop is too old. Let me give him mine, and I'll get one of those new ones" approach. She did not buy it. :( :(

there's always the, "sweetheart, the kids spilled something
on the laptop and now it won't work" approach. lol!

Usually i just buy it and wait to hear about it. If i do get it I'll sell the tower and get some of the money back. But since the tower is almost 4 years old the Quote "it's on borrowed time" usually works. Especially since I do use it quite a bit. I also use this one; "Today's applications require so much more horsepower these days" Either way we find a reason but not an excuse. BTW I do need the horsepower so to speak.

Guys, are there any more laptops to be released? Is this supposed to be the Powerbook equivalent or what? The screen size on this one is just waay to big or my needs.

This IS the PowerBook, Vin. They've changed the name. It's no longer "PowerBook." It's now "Mac Book Pro." Most people believe Apple will change the name "iBook" for "Mac Book," which, by the way, are expected to be released in April.

We don't know... Only Steve and a few of his closest friends know.
