V1 reverts back to A mode from L mode
 

I have a hard-wired V1/S1 set up and I like to keep the V1 in L mode. But quite often I find that it's back to the default A mode when I notice it's being too sensitive. Anyone else's do this?

This happens to me all the time. I haven't bothered to troubleshoot it.

Nope...had not seen such a problem with mine. But then again, I don't have the S1 :dunno:

Interesting - I do have a feeling that it's the S1 that does it. Not really a big deal, but it's a bit annoying sometimes. Probably a minor software bug. I'll write note to Jared perhaps...

It's a loose connection on the S1. also happens when there is noise on the iBus.

Hmmm... - I think if it was a loose connection I'd see other symptoms and other than this, the S1 seems to work just fine. As for the noise on the iBus, I guess that makes sense, but what could be causing the noise?

Whenever you have a long wire, it's very prone to pick up noise...somewhat like an antenna...especially in a noisy environment such as a car. Your signal line that is tapped into the iBus, how are you running it to the S1? Are you running just 1 wire and then grounding it at the S1 box? or a pair of wires (signal + ground)? Running just 1 wire is bad and can be exposed to all types of ground loops as well. Also, running just a single wire (without a proper return wire) can lead to picking up noise from nearby parallel wiring (signal coupling). If you're running a pair of wires, it's much better if you twist them together to minimize picking up noises (look at how BMW twists all your speaker wires to/from your amp). Obviously, the best would be to use coaxial or RCA type cables since the signal wire is enclosed by an outer ground wire shield. Hopes that help (somewhat) explaining some of the ways your connection can pick up noises.

Yes thanks, that helps a ton! Thanks for explaining it. It's been so long I forget how I ran the wires now - my S1 is up in the headliner. Anyhow, if it bothers me enough, perhaps I'll have a look and maybe even rewire it. Thanks again!
