Kinda old news which involved a cruise ship a few months ago.Kinda old news meaning it's an ongoing issue that has not been solved.

Yah, different story....this is new.

Crazy stuff! :loco: Complete lawlessness and chaos. Because of this kind of thing, there is a burgeoning private security industry, including private maritime security patrols. :gun:

Lots of desparately poor people in conjuction with corrupt governments and you have a formula for anarchy. A friend of mine has business in Nigeria and when he's there he has a private armed body guard. Scary stuff.

It's not Africa Wagner, it's Kenya. This is not directed to you but in the US, people tend to generalize a lot, i can't count how many times someone ask me if i speak African or if I wore cloth b4 I came to the US. There's over 55 countries in Africa and not all of them have something wrong :2thumbs: .

I think Wagner was expressing amazement at the chaos in general, and you can't help but generalize...while there is a difference between countries, one which we try to understand, it is my understanding that even Kenya is tough to travel in now...it is difficult even for French nationals to lie in peace on the beach in the Ivory Coast without being robbed (don't tell Wagner but I have friends who are French:tsk:)...There are thousands of people like Rayxi's friend who only travel under heavy security...we would love to be educated about the good news coming out of the continent, because, god forbid, the US media airs something positive...

From Idi Amin, to Liberia, Sudan, to Somalia (which is ruled by warlords and has a long tradition of piracy going back to the Victorian Empire), to the Nigerian guerillas, and the agri/economic disaster unfolding in, is it, Zimbabwe?, it hard for even the most travelled of Westerners to comprehend and make sense of the level of cultural, social, and political unrest...we are agog at the capacity for violence and genocide within the continent, and we feel demoralized about not being able to halt the AIDS pandemic. Please share the success stories because we want to hear them and support them.

Well first off my opening statement said "general" and last I checked Kenya is in Africa... :)

(don't tell Wagner but I have friends who are French) -- haha, hey..nobody is perfect.

Old news because it's still going on and has not been resolved. What would be helpful is to get an understanding as to why this rash of violence continues. ( Aside from the fact there seem to be evil people behind it)
