Calling AV fans; HD recorder reco
Looking for a solution to off-load the movies, etc from my HD Tivo. Since there is no HD DVD recorder out yet(right?), is there any HD recorder which can take HDMI or DVI or component input? Looked at Sony DHG-HDD250 but it has coaxial input only. Do not want to lose quality in the process. Or Windows media center with ATI's HD wonder is the way to go. :dunno:

..Have you networked your tivo with your computer?? With tivo desktop (downloadable software from tivo...), you can transfer to your computer from your tivo, then burn onto dvd from the computer...I'm not HD, but I do this all the time..:dunno:

I tried that but its does not work. My Tivo is DirecTV's HD Tivo and therfore different than regular Tivo. I cannot manage my Tivo through Tivo.com. I connected using a USB port based RJ45 connection but never worked. I am told Directv's verison of Tivo is treated differently and does not work like regular Tivo where you can schedule recordings through internet. The Tivo software is also different version thant the regular Tivo's.

ports on the HR10-250 are not active yet. the manual states that they are for future use. |

i have the same box, but haven't messed w/
it much. if i come up w/ anything, i'll let u know. get this, i bought a stand-alone tivo a few weeks back, called directv to activate it and that was that. so i thought. turns out, stand-alone units aren't part of directv's package even if u are paying the $7/month for the service. u end up having to sign up w/ tivo too. so, u end up having to pay 2 different companies for tivo service.  :wtf: |
