740iL questions...

My friend has a 2000 740iL that recently had a problem or two. Looking for input as to what it could be.

1) Rear drivers side window only 'clicks' when the switch is pushed. I'm assuming regulator. I've been one of the lucky few that never had a window problem on my 540 nor X5. So I've never heard what that syptom sounds like. Would you guys agree on the regulator theory? And - since one went - the others won't be far behind?

2) When turning the wheel (only while at a stand-still), it sound like the power steering pump 'moans'. It doesn't make any noise any other time. Fluid was checked and OK. Thoughts?

TIA - just looking for advice to help out a friend.

1) could be a window regulator!

2) sounds like your power steering pump might be beginning to go. If fluid levels are correct, that could be the problem!

Keep us posted, and good luck!

I think he is right.

My front passenger window started making clicking/popping sound on occasion when pushing the switch and a few weeks later the window wouldn't roll back up. Regulator was faulty and replaced under extended warranty. Good luck to your friend,
