SG: Congrats to you and your fellow AZ citizens!

You can turn off your sprinklers for a week...

I was reading that people's landscape cacti were croaking and
that the fauna was taking a pasadena on breeding season, it is so dry.

Hope you get some more of the "gentle variety".

I have not heard that, but it's interesting. No cactus here :D

I heard it was 143 days straight. Atleast you can go wash your car afterwards. Thats one of the worst things about Colorado; we can have all four seasons in one day within hours. It's hard to keep my car clean all the time especially now that I love the Zaino products. I can usually only have the car clean for about a week.

Phoenix didn't get the snow, it was up in North Scottsdale or Cave Creek areas. I'm not that hard up to see snow

Greg should have been able to see the snow that covers the hills/mountains surrounding the Valley from his house (assuming he took a peek outside today). It was so clear after the rain, you could see snow-covered hills from up north (Cavecreek/Carefree area) all the way to the east side of the Valley (from McDowell Mountains in North Scottsdale to the Superstition Mountains east of Mesa). A rare site to see.

It's amazing that your grass and trees are still so green after so much dry weather. Even with sprinklers/drips, I'd think the dry air would tear them up. Also, I think it was down to the teens or low 20s in Flagstaff last night...I imagine that would kill off a lot of the palm trees there. I was in Vegas on Friday and Saturday and it was snowing on and off...interesting weather for March.

Yeah, I could see the snow on the mountains to the North and to the East. It was indeed a rare and beautiful sight.

We'll, I planted winter rye which easily handles the lower moisture and cold night temps. I still only water once every 3 days. Some plants get nailed by frost. It's usually the Lantana (the small green patches on the right side of the pics), I already had to cut them down to the nubs, and what you see is all new growth. All the other plant/tree material in my yard is made for this climate, so they stay green year round. Those ficus trees for example are amazingly hearty. Nothing seems to bother them, from 30 degree nights to 115 degree days.
