Thinking about the purchase of a pre owned moto.
Any thoughts on the BMW R1100S Boxercup Replika??
I found one offered for $9500. 2200 miles with HID upgrades, lazer exhaust, performance chip and thousands of extras. I would be upgrading from a 1987 Suzuki Savage  I also found out that I can finance a new 2004 R1100S Boxercup Replika or non Boxercup for .9% through BMW. And, BMW makes the first five payments for you. I think the bike retails for about $14,000. I am leaning towards the preowned though... I figure I might use the bike for some very very light track duty. I have never had a moto on a track but I figure it's the best way to learn how to ride properly. I am not a speed freak, but skills learned on a track might save my life. I know I am a much much better driver because of track days in a car so I assume the same for a motobike. I do not plan on racing or even going 10/10's. I would just learn proper bike control. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Again, I am not a reckless speed freak, rather a very cautious rider.. B |
I bought a 2004 1100 S last September and that model BMW (Replika or not) is a good, solid bike that won't get you into too much trouble. If you can get a used one with Laser and chip, grab it. Very little that you have to do to it. I'm over on the BMW MOA site and the Pelican 1100 S site - both are good places to hang out and find out more about the bike.
