It looks like a lot of folks have a GPS nav system. Sorry for the newb question, however, do you really use them that much? Is it easier than simply getting directions on yahoo or mapquest?
Maybe this is one of those products that you dont' realize how useful they are unitl you acutally own one. |

I use my 2610 a lot, especially since i just moved to a new state and don't know my way around that much yet. I also take it with me on trips, especially my yearly "get in the car and just start driving" week long vaction, it gives you the confidence to just go and not worry about getting completely lost. So in answer to your question, yes, they're better than mapquest, and once you start using 1, you use it a lot. |
Totally agreee. Also, you have a firm ETA with nav, no guessing on when you arrive. No crabbing with the co-pilot, eiher.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really like the Tom Tom but that Nuvi is worth waiting for so I think I'm going to hang back and see what Costco sells it for. It seems that Costco has been picking up some almost-out-of-date products lately as the Nuvi 350 is going to be topped by the 360 with built in BT. On a side note, Costco has been getting buttloads of Apple iMac G5's and Mac Minis all without the Intel chips.

Kevin - I'm with you. I think I'll pick up a Nuvi also from Costco.

Hmmm... The Nuvi350 disappeared from the Costco.com website...

Is this better than a Magellan 800? If so why? http://tinyurl.com/ryxea

The Magellans are pretty good but they just seem so big and clunky to me. I guess I'm taken with how slick the Nuvi is. |
I apologize if i missed the follow up to this thread but............... which portable nav did you end up with?......... I see the Nuvi 360 for $550 at Costco now......... I'm trying to find a decent small nav in the under $600 range....
