From the last article i read about this in C/D, that's the design, no sidewalls... but you may be right, the final product hasn't been released yet.

If and when the Tweel is approved for production, I wonder if Michelin is going to license and sell the technology to other tire companies to ensure greater acceptance of their product. Did they learn anything from their TRX fiasco?

I have never seen anything like that. Seems like allignment would be a pain in the ass.

With sidewalls, it makes more sense, IMO. Would look more like a tire. I'd feel like a geek driving on tweels. How would you clean them?

It's only wise to make a sidewall for these things. It would provide protection for those internal bands.

Oh Man. TRX tires. I used to have them on a 6 series. They had to be the worst damn tire ever. They use to make this noise when drive les than 10 mph like in a parking lot. It sound like someone was making fart noises with there mouth. And they handled like shit. Then the 15 and 3/4 inch rims they fit what the fuck was that.

About those tweals, I dont think it would work without a sidewall. Especially with ice or snow how would they work properly if they are full of ice or snow.

I think I read they they were used in production/testing on tractors/construction equipment.
