Good program to rip mp3's?

Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm still relatively new to this.

I want to start loading my cd's into my Sirius S50 (have been only using the radio and downloading music off Sirius up until now). My understanding (correct me if I'm wrong), Is that I'm better off loading mp3's vs. wma's since mp3 files are not as large, although I should notice no difference in audio quality. I know how to make wma files using Windows Media Player.

Question is: What is a good recommended program to convert my cd's into mp3's, load them in my computer so that I can drag and drop 'em into my s50. I realize many of you are pro's at this stuff, so thanks for helpin' out a noob.
;)

Once again, pardon my ignorance, but how do I get WMP to rip as an mp3? Where do you pick this setting?

Use iTunes. Its a lot better then Windows Media Player.

I dunno if your Sirius S50 supports AAC, but AAC gives better quality then MP3 with a smaller file size...

(AAC is the music layer from Mpeg 4 which underpins HD-DVD & Blu-ray)
(MP3 is the music/audio layer from Mpeg 2 which is the technology that underpins today's regular DVD's).

Regardless, iTunes can encode into both.

If you need instructions on how to rip using iTunes, just repost and i'll walk you through it...

It seems the s50 will recognize only mp3 or wma formats, not aac.

As I said, I am getting this music off of my own cd's. Which would be best to use, mp3 or wma? :dunno:
