X5 on The Sopranos?
 

After dinner, Freddie and I stopped by 7-11 to pick up some milk. I sat in the X and he went in the store. A guy in a Ford Focus pulls in two spaces to my right. His passenger goes into the store. I see him out of the corner of my eye staring at my X. Then he gets out of the car, limps toward mine and is looking at it hardcore. I knew none of my tires were flat because I glanced at them as we were leaving the restaurant. He walks around the front, still looking it over, and around to my side. I roll down my window and he goes, "I'm just admiring your car." I smile and say "Oh...thanks!" He goes, "This is the same one they had on The Sopranos, isn't it?" I said, "I don't know, I don't watch the show." He goes, "Well it's very nice." Me, "Thanks," as he limps back to his Focus.

So, just out of curiosity...is there an X5 in The Sopranos? (I know we have a bunch of Sopranos fans here.)

He was probably mistakenly referring to the Porsche Cayenne Tony Soprano gave his wife a couple of episodes ago.

Nope.

Tony used to drive a red Suburban, now he drives a black Escalade, which he rolled on midnight "looking to score coke" cruise with the very hot and very late Adrianna La Cerva (proud owner of a light blue Thunderbird, still mysteriously parked in the long term lot at JFK). Adrianna's fiancé, Christopher, once emptied a clip into Tony's Suburban, outside the Bada Bing. Chrissie drove a black Range Rover, a step up from both his Hummer and his Lexus. Now, he tools around in John Sacramoni's Maserati. A major step up.

Tony is generous. He gave his son AJ a Nissan Xterra last season, and gifted Carmela with a new Porsche Cayenne this season. I guess she was bored with her E Class wagon. Carm's friend, Angie Bonpensiero, widow of the late "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero, just bought herself a Vette.

No X5, though. :)

:iagree: A Cayenne "like the pepper" (as she explained to her friend) Turbo that she is very fond of...but i'm not sure if she will ever use the 450 hp...

Given the reliability of the Cayenne, I don't think anyone will (for long):D

He sure did not do her any favor with that particular vehicle.

I'd guess that Porshce paid a few bucks for the
"product placement" and mention by "Carmella".

Great show again, this season. If AJ was my kid...

Obviously a serious car person as getting the X confused with the Porsche is about as easy as mistaking a Civic for a Ferrari. :) haha

i totally agree. The guy was obviously taking a closer look at what was sitting in the X5 than the X5 itself. But im sure he was paying much attention to the grill and headlights.
