Who's the youngest?
Who's the youngest member here with an X5. Go for it .. I turn 17 thursday... anyone beat that lol
|
physical or mental age? if it's mental, then i'm stuck in the anal phase according to my fiancee, which puts me at 1-2 years old, i think. and just out of curiosity, how does a 17 year old have 2 BMWs? i'm jealous cuz i didn't even have a license at 17.
|
And you got heated rear seats. Don't waste 'em.
|

o yeah. i decided to go with the X5 instead of the M3 idk y i think the M wouldve been better but I am very happy with the X too . and the M can come when the 2007 comes out and all the errors are found so i can ride this badboy for about 4-5 years then go on and get myself a new M3. |

16 here..turning 17 this sept
|
well i'm happy to volunteer that i certainly didn't buy my X on my own: it was a "UCLA grad & send-off to law school" gift from my parents, as they called it, strongly encouraged by mom (of course) because she (of course) wanted me to have a safe car.
and honestly, when i have kids one day, i'd do the same: i would not want to be driving around in a brand new flashy car and give a POS car to my kids that could break down, wouldn't be as safe in an accident, etc.... just my 3c :) oh yeah, to answer the question lol, i'm 26 now |

got my angelibrights done....im considering sellin this car (7k miles now) when my mother fully transfers ownership to me (gotta get into a good college lol) and gettin either evo 9 or m3 :)
|
I got the X when i was 18....i'm 19 now! Had a deal with parents that if I get a full ride to college they buy me a BMW...I'm doin Mechanical Engineering at BU and still threw up 15g's for the X cuz i felt bad for my parents....I also pay for the mods myself my parents would smack me for spending money on the car...so i divide the prices of the mods by 5 if my mom asks how much I paid! My first car was a 1990 oldsmobile cutlass supreme sl coupe which I still own for insurance purposes.

I could be the youngest...
Got my X3 at 15 & 1/2... Still 17, turn 18 in Sep... |
i got my x5 for christmas this last year. I turn 17 in july.
|
I really feel old, reading these posts. But when I'm in my X5, I'm young again and feel like Mario Andretti, AJ Foyt, Jackie Stewart, Richard Petty, "Big Daddy" Don Garlitis, all rolled into one. And I "drive".

Prices here in New Zealand for cars are very expensive compared to the rest of the world.
ie a new 2006 x5 4.8is retails for $185,000k 2006 x5 4.4 is $148,000k the new M5 is over $250,000k and this is in New Zealand dollars a lot more when converted to US Dollar. My point is i dont know of any 17yr olds here in NZ that can afford a secondhand bmw x5 let alone a new one. while driving in New Zealand the X5 comands an air of respect whether new or old. |
Some of them earned it the old fashioned way..., they inherited it.

I'm 18 and hopefully losing the car soon. I want to get a bike so I don't have to drive anyone around next year. |

I had a 1976 Pontiac Acadian when I was 17. It was a real chick magnet - unfortanately the magnet had the wrong polarity and repelled them. |

Im 19 im driving my second X5 now, it is a 2003 4.6is estoril blue I just got it 2 weeks ago certified wit 31,892 miles on it. By the way im new to x5 world and I really like it.
|
WOW. Some of you all have some nice parents. When I was 16 I had to buy my own ride, a $200.00 Chevelle that I then had to fix up. I didn't get a dime in help on the car or insurance. Lucky peeps :) :) :)

I actually turn 17 on Friday, so I may be the youngest. We had the X5 since 2002, but barely anyone drove it (besides my sister, but she goes to school in Boston, and comes home about 1-2 times a month). I didn't feel right about just inheriting the X, so I asked my dad if I could work at one of the Hotels, and he agreed after a long talk about responsibility, and why I wanted to work. The main concern was if work would interfere with my studies. I now work on average 55 hours a week, and have 2 cars. The X5 doesn't get driven that much because of gas, and because of the people at my school (12 cars have gotten keyed in the last month alone), but my everyday commuter is a 2004 Jetta that use to be my brother's. I still can't belive that at 16 I'm paying for my own stuff, guess I'm getting ready for the "real" world. :)

It's great that you have a good work ethic but 55 hrs a week would definately affect your school work. Do you do your homework on the job? (So says the guy who's surfing X5World on the job :tsk: ). |
I'm very late to this thread.. But I was 15 when I got the X5.. Now I'm 17 and I drive the 330 but only for a few more months.. 88,600 miles as of today.
