hey i washed my X again today and then i decided to wash my sisters 325 too so after driving it for only about 5 minutes , i go to wash it and out of the hood and the front tires i see smoke coming out, so im confused

is the smoke coming out because the engine is warm ??? :confused:

o yeah i decided to take the X to a carwash today instead of washing it myself, they did a HORRRIBLE job, i ended up washing it myself for about 2 hours in addition to waht the car wash ppl did... :tsk:

Was her car sitting in the sun? If so the smoke was the heat of the paint contacted by the cold water.

If the car was not sitting in the sun then you happened to spary way too much water down the cowl on the car.

No biggie either way.

Nah, not really though you should never wash or wax a car while hot (it will say that right on the bottle. Try not to do it again.

5 mins is also plenty of time to heat up the brake rotors.

somebody didn't take their physics class.. ha. and running the X5 through a car wash?? dayum... :confused:

Cut him some slack - Amit just turned 17 a couple of weeks back. He's still a little wet behind the ears. He'll get it all figured out soon enough.
