Laptop Wifi Problems
I'm staying at a friend's house for a few days, but am having problems connecting to the router wirelessly. I connect to the router fine, but I can't go online, no packets received. If I ping the router using the cmd window, I have no problems -> no packets lost. So problems if im wired.

disable and reable ur network adapters wire/wireless. If that doesn't work, reset the router and you'll be fine.

does ur friend have any sort of mac address
filtering enabled or any other security? |
run ipconfig /all on your machine... do you have a dns server?
|
Everything looks ok with ipconfig. dns server is there, but for dhcp it says no...
No mac filter. |
shut ur labtop off, then reset the router/ put back encrpytion back on change the channel its signal is on, sometimes it helps, then turn on ur labtop. Oh yea turn off the router( pull teh plug and let it sit for like 5 mins)

Is this a Mac thing? If so wireless security may be enabled. Does it ask for a password? Are you using a PC to access an Apple network?

this is a router issue not a labtop issue... I've had quite a few people problems like this at the helpdesk. Router just doesn't want to let them on some times its is weird tho. Make sure ur tcp/ip settings are automaticaly aquire address.
