My friend's wife has a tourag and has had nothing but problems, which have escalated as the car aged. While some of the problems might have been innocuous, getting the parts took a very long time, some times even months.

I am a regular poster on the hondapilot.org forum. One of the old timers on that forum switched from a Pilot to the Tourag a few years ago but is still an active poster on the hp.org forum. Anyway, the point to all this is that the individual is on his third Tourag ... the first two were bought back by VW for various problems.

Here's the thread: http://hondapilot.org/forums/showthr...ghlight=tourag

Sounds as though your dad has had a fortunate experience with his 2004 Tourag.

So considering the volume of threads on the various problems the car has, I can see why the moderator responded that way. It would be like if someone posted a thread on X5World saying "anyone heard of the IceLink plus Ipod controller??".

When and if anyone posts asking about an Icelink, we'd suggest a search and point them to Tom G. at EAS. Simple as that, I nor any of the moderators or admins. would lock the thread based on that alone.

Locking the thread seems a bit harsh, but I can understand their suggestion to do a search.

To wit, this thread's focus should be on helping cmy's father gather coherent information about his current vehicle and not whether a bitchy moderator had his/her feelings hurt by an innocent question....I had never posted in my life and nobody locked a thread when I wandered into X5world.

cmy now has scottie, davenport, gresch's friend's wife, myself, and your due diligence noted and that is helpful...it's like a knowledge commune here.

Well over at MBWorld.org they are like that too. I ask about this problem I'm having with my audio volume fluctuating on my 2004 ML500, and I'm told to "search dumbass!". And mind you, the problem I was having is completely rare. I did do a search and there were only 2 people who had this problem, both posts dating back years. WTF?!

I noticed the same thing over there when I used to post while I had my E55. :tsk:

Same kind of stuff at "Howard Forums", which is a cell phone forum. I have been astounded at how rude mods can be to newbies.

I hear ya! I had to teach myself how to flash my V551. I am very infrequent user of that site...most likely because of the "warm welcome" I received like you. I don't understand what is up with this arrogance. If you possess the knowledge on a topic, it should be a pleasure teaching others provided they asked you nicely.

Those guys there are "above and beyond" helping anyone. :tsk:
