CJ- very hard to talk someone out of the idea once they begin to think about getting a pickup truck. Maybe he has plans to fill it with bungee cords, old milk crates, gas cans, a tent, sleeping bag, carabeaners and a fly rod? Colorado would be the perfect place to be that kinda dude. :dunno:

:withstupi That thing looks like a beast...IS a beast. If you go with anything less, then you should just stick with the X5. Although IMHO I think BMWs are much better and can still carry everything you would ever need it to.

If he is really set on a pickup truck, how about a Chevy Avalanche? I know that some people retch over the styling, but I used to own one. Has decent road manners for a big-butt truck (much better than the average standard pickup truck), you have the covered storage which is nice in the snow belt, a back seat when needed, and you can open it up to haul big stuff. It also tows well. I used to get 15-16mpg avg on the highway, around 13 in town. That is the down side, though it runs on the 87 octane stuff. I sold mine with 30,000 miles on it (was using the Touring more), and it had zero problems in the almost 3 years I had it.

I am a Ford fan myself, so if he needs 4 wheel drive get a new model f-150. If not, buy a 2004 Ford Lightning. Best bang for your buck. A few easy mods and he can keep up with corvette's on the straights.
;puke; Dodge.

Yeah, but you can still find 2004's in the "heritage" body style.

He hates the Avalanche, and I must say I do too.. I like the idea of the SRT-10 :D , but, alas, it's rwd... I like the new F150, too, but I like the Ram better.
