Very close Call!

About 3 weeks after I had my brand new 2006 X5 i was pulled over on the 403 East in Ontario doing 160 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. Basically to make a long story short, the Officer told me I am damn luck that he just finished dropping off a victim from a homicide case and he had to get back to the division. By the way this happened around 3 am and the cop looked either very tired or possibily under the influence of alcohol. Anyways that was to close for comfort and ive learned my lesson. If i had got a ticket or even worse lost some demerit points, that would be the end of my X5 days because my dad wouldnt definatly take my keys away for a while.

Man forget taking the keys away for a while - the insurance would have spiked.

Speaking of speeding, what exactly is the OPP's jurisdiction on the 407 ETR?

Are you guys twins separated at birth? Both from Toronto, same avatars etc... :) Main difference is that "bmur45" is the smarter one since he drives an X5 ;)

You should of asked why he was driving around with a dead person as surely the victim of a homicide would be deceased?

That's subjective. I wouldn't go back to the E53 from what I drive now.

Well I think in general I'm done with SUVs for a while, be it an ML, X5 or pepper, etc.

I've finished with the renovations, and I'm tired of driving around in a 2.2-ton beast. Huge engine, lots of room - but it hurts when I pay at the pump, and the performance naturally suffers from the weight.

The next car will be a sedan. For sure.

I have no idea how people here drive SUVs. I'm on vacation in my home country (Bulgaria).

The price for the premium gas is 1.97 leva per liter today. That equals to $1.42 Canadian per liter.

In US terms, that means $4.80 US per gallon. That's DEATH, by anyone's standard.
