Six months ago today I stumbled across xoutpost.com while searching for information regarding my messed up fuel gauge sensor. I couldn’t believe my eyes; I had found an entire website dedicated to the X5 with thousands of members who loved their X just as much as I did! I was so amazed at how active the message boards were…you could post a question, and within seconds someone would respond with exactly what you needed! I quickly learned that xoutpost.com is the Google of BMW SAVs! So I hurried and posted my
first thread and apparently received the largest welcome in X5world history. Over the next few weeks I’d ask a simple question and get pages and pages of replies. Some members would just make a post like
this in my threads! However, there were some who got a
little upset with the attention I received, and I even received some PMs asking to post certain questions in order to get a quick response; apparently they didn’t receive any replies when they posted the same question. I soon found out that this site has a local celebrity, JV (formerly known as JVZ104), but I never got to listen to his radio show. Then my girl, cmyx5go, came along! She had been lurking in the shadows for many months, and decided to join in all of the chatter once she saw another girl on the board. I thought SuperGreg was really
this guy for the first few weeks and was scared to death! I still have nightmares about that unibrow. I quickly learned to look forward to Wednesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays were very funny for a while, but apparently not worth
the effort. :tsk: The meet in DC was awesome! Putting faces with screen names and online personalities...it felt like we had known each other for years. I’m ready for the next one!
I just wanted to let you guys know that in the short time I’ve been a member here, you have become like family to me! I have become very close with a handful of you who I consider to be my closest friends (you know who you are). I cannot wait to meet more of you…especially the West Coast crew (get that freaking WFIV planned already!)
Alright, I’m off to check out Freak Friday, because that’s what Fridays are all about!
