What's your favorite beer?

One of my favorite's is Moosehead but fosters is good also. The other night we went out for mexican food and i had this beer http://www.gmodelo.com.mx/eng/marcas/modeloesp.html. Maybe I was hungry? Maybe I was thirsty but that beer was the bomb. Delicious.

voytek 06-30-2006 03:53 AM

You haven't lived if you didn't drink Belgian beers. If one could put Heaven in bottle it would be called Westvletteren or Westmale Tripple. Both should be approched with extreme caution, they are not for children or to extinguish your thirst on Summer afternoon. They are for taste and contemplation.

asawadude 06-30-2006 04:10 AM

That would be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Unfortunately I can't drink more than 3 or 4 beers. Blood sugar goes whacko. So whenever I have a SNPA, I savor like it's my last beer. I do like Modelos also, as well as Corona and Pacifico. There's another Mexican beer called Sol that's very good. I like Mexican beer icy cold straight out of the bottom of the ice chest.

JonK 06-30-2006 04:32 AM

Beer goes down very well when I had a very very long day. My top picks.
1. Heineken (I see more people drinking this at the bars)
2. Corona (must be with lime/lemon)
3. Sierra Nevada Pale (best Californian beer, pls correct me if it is from Nevada as the name indicates close enough anyway)
4. Guiness: I love the foamy creamy coffee-like flavor. It helps me with post-weightlifting aches.

I cannot stand light beer. If anyone wanna to cut few calories he/she shoudn't drink beer at all in my opinion. I see very large people drinking diet coke after a double cheeseburger and large fries. What are they in common? What's the point in this?

Most importantly I like my beer icy cold and I like my woman smoking hot.
If I decide to get waisted, very very rare occasion, single malt whisky only no beers, pls.
Johnny Walke Black or Blue goes down the best for me.

asawadude 06-30-2006 04:57 AM

The Sierra Nevada brewery is in Chico on the 99 beyond Sacto. They have a restaurant and a concert hall. The food is excellent, plus you can drink all of their seasonal and special brews that aren't available anywhere else.

Have you ever tasted Glenfiddich single malt? You might not want to drink any other whisky afterwards...

Bavarian 06-30-2006 05:33 AM

1) Bulgarian Stolichna Tumna (metropolitan dark)
2) Stella Artois
3) Kokanee (Canadian)

jaba 06-30-2006 05:37 AM

alexz 06-30-2006 08:10 AM

1. Heineken
2. Stella Artois
3. Baltika 3
4. Obolon on tap
5. Corona

Modcat 06-30-2006 09:09 AM

I think that draft beer taste best, for example Sam on tab is great but not so good from the bottle.

cmyX6go 06-30-2006 09:20 AM

I've never had a beer buzz! Don't get the beer thing. MAYBE once a summer, an ice cold lowenbrau or Corona. No if you ask about martini's - I like 'em nice and dirty :D - kettle one

Thunder22 06-30-2006 09:23 AM

I've been drinking Stella and Yuengling lately... but I still have a craving for good ol' Absolut & 7's in the summer.

fln8tive 06-30-2006 09:31 AM

I effect of a Corona pulled from the bottom of a large cooler full of ice with a lime wedge pushed into the neck is hard to beat.

The best quality beer I have ever experienced (my F-250 parked in their lot was my room for the night) is from the New Belgium Brewing Company in Colorado. http://www.newbelgium.com/beers_ft.php

WOOD56 06-30-2006 09:43 AM

1. Tubrog Gold
2. Heineken

Michelle 06-30-2006 10:01 AM

Not much of a drinker...but if I must, I stick with my redneck varieties: Miller Lite and Coors Light.

X5Jay 06-30-2006 10:06 AM

Fav - Ice cold and young Bud can (even better - right at the factory - same day Bud is perfect!)
Worst - Sam Adams & Coors
Everything else in between is just fine

I LOVE beer, thanks to Ken :)

My faves are:

Sam Adams Light - everyday drinking (Summer Ale is tasty too)
Guinness along with Jameson - YUM!!!
Bavaria - thanks to JV for bringing Ken some by on his way out of town as a going away present. Very tasty

and for when I am on the river, or outdoors - the cheap beer - Miller or Bud light.

MMMMMMMMMMMMM, BEER!

Wagner 06-30-2006 11:28 AM

Right you are! Must be an Appalachian thing (or an Irish thing?)...my picks:

1 - Sam Adams (draft or bottle) is my top pick for most occasions
2 - Guinness and Jamesons go together like Blarney and Stone
3 - A new favorite is Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA (Out of DE)...good stuff!

:iagree: on the Martini choice, however I prefer Pravda or Chopin over Kettle One.

GMGX5 06-30-2006 01:13 PM

Corona and lime in the summer
hermanns dark in the winter or Guiness
Molson Canadian for guzzeling...

My buddy is a teacher at Chico so I've been there several times. I remember drinking only but Sierra Nevada brand there. Thanks for the info.

I remember sneaking Glenfiddich (among other variety of Conac) out of dad's liquor cabinet in high school. I only remember it was really bitter in my mouth.
However, I'll give it a try again. Availabilities are limited at the bar I go to but the Johny varieties and Crown Royal. I am a just social drinker.

My favorite Sake? Kubota and Onigoroshi nothing else at the sushi bar.
Stay away from the tap style hot sake if you want to drink over a small bottle. Nasty hangover.

Tequila: Only Patron, I remember college parties I get headaches when I just hear the name Cuevo.

GUINNESS 06-30-2006 02:53 PM

Glenlivet > Glenfiddich. And if you've never had Glenlivet 21yr, you're missing out.

Austral (from Punta Arenas in Patagonia) when in Chile
Moretti when in Italy
Guiness when in the UK
Craft beer from microbreweries around home, for fun
Last beer I had was this one, it was a gift. Delirium Tremens, from Belgium. Very nice. Strong. I suspect it isn't cheap, but I haven't seen it locally yet.

haigha 09-19-2011 08:51 PM

I mostly drink red wine. For special occasions where beer is better :
