I live in Minnesota and our local Costco still had premium for $2.99 tonight -- you should have seen the line of monster SUVs filling up (average is around $3.30 here now).

Just to make you all feel better, there was an article in the paper here today about a strong decline in boat traffic on the rivers and lakes. They talked to one guy who owned a yacht where gas was $4.00 a gallon. The kicker is his boat has dual 250 HP motors and he gets 1 MPH. The boat has a 300 gallon tank.

Ouch!

Yeah we have duel jet skis, boy do they ever suck gas! I totally understand why I wouldn't want to take it out because is expensive which makes the trip so much more expensive.

Tell me about it! Try installing water injectors on the carbs or get a stroke converter. The other thing is you can run them in tandem so one drafts the other one, kind of like a bike racer...saves a TON of gas!

Not in 2001, It was 1.10 when I was 15 which was in the early 90's. Gas prices didn't hit an all time high, oil per barrel did. These are two very different things because all oil is not refined to gasoline. Please remember you are also in the peak driving season of summer now and the marketing/sales and econ departments of Shell, Exxon/Mobil, BP and others will take advantage of America's need to move. Also, having an on going war take a ton of fuel as well (just look up the MPG of a Bradley or Abrams and you'll see).

If you really give a rats @ss about gas prices, write congress about why we are not pushing, with full force, alternative fuels like E85 and other bio-mass fuels....why are we waiting till 2015 for this type of production....

And if you don't write congress and vote about this then don't discuss it, you lose the privelage....at least in the states.

Current UK price around here equates to about $7.65 per UK Gallon. You've got a little way to go yet...........;)
