Lemon Law Question
OK so as several of you know, my Range Rover has been a total nightmare, It has somewhere near 4500 miles on it and has been in the shop for 4 weeks of that time.
Issues: Phantom revving on supercharger (minimized but still present) Heated seats not working properly Leaking Oil among other things Its going back into the stop tomorrow because It is leaking oil AGAIN, getting really bad mileage, the backup camera is broken again and the power folding mirrors flip back out half the time I want this car bought back, has anyone ever done this with a car or have knowledge of the process? |
I tried the lemon law route with my Jeep from hell. I needed to have the exact same problem occur 3 times without a proper fix. Didn't apply to me because although the problems were all drivetrain related, it was not the same issue 3 times.
Good luck, be persistant. I fought big time and wound up getting a chunk of change in addition to getting out of my lease. |
Yeah that same issue happened on my mom's Town and Country, EVERYTHING but the same thing went wrong. The Oil issue has already been fixed and this is the second time so I'm hoping for a third?

google lemon law in california, each state is slightly different i believe. and knowing CA law , it's going to be whacky.
|
yeah I did and to be honest it's really confusing as to how to interpret it, I guess it may be worth my while to get a lemon law lawyer, too bad I had hoped to do it alone.
|
Ask the guys from lemonlaw.com to recommend someone in CA. I used them for my '04 Volvo XC90... it was a VERY pleasant experience.

Thanks so much, I will!

Well having Lemoned my 1st X with BMW on my own no lawyer involved you need to have the same issue happen 4 times within the warranty period in California. The only caveat being that it has to be a serious or safety related issue.
Mine met the criteria by running out of gas 9 times while showing anywhere from a quarter to half a tank in intersections, freeways and once as I left the dealer:rofl: , as well as a total transmission failure while on a cross country road trip in NYC. They put me and the family up for a week at their cost in the Waldorf under the trip interuption policy (only hotel available in the middle of summer with half a days notice). If you need more info let me know it took me three months from when I dropped the car off to when the new one arrived on the doorstep, not bad considering I got nearly 2 years out of the X and 30,000 miles. I had a RR and nearly went the Lemon route but the damn thing never had the same thing go wrong 4 times it was just a matter of the gremlins deciding which piece should fail next:mad: |
I have experienced 2 lemons in the past 5 years!
The first one was an '02 F150 pick-up. I used the attorney at lemonlaw.com and Ford bought the truck back. Very painful and long process. The second one was on an '04 4.4 that I had issue after issue with and Pacific BMW bought it back and sold me an '06 in its place. So far it has been trouble free. |
So did you have the same issue 4 times?
