Need help posting & reducing pics

:dunno: I searched, I really did, and I just can't seem to find info on posting pics. I also seem to remember someone mentioning a useful tool to reduce picture file sizes - I think it was Jeff, but not quite sure. Can someone please forgive me for being so ignorant to this and help? I have yet to post and feel I owe you guys a few pics of my X5... TIA!!!

I use IrfanView to reduce my image size... Jeff recommended it to me.

CJ is correct - that's a great program. It even has a handy batch process for handling large groups of images. http://www.irfanview.com/

Thanks CJ, Jeff! I downloaded the software and it seems pretty simple to adjust the image size. So after I do that, do I need to first post to the x5world gallery? How do I get the photo posted? - sorry, sometimes I need 3rd grade-level instructions...

You can upload them to the gallery if you want, and I think then you can get the pictures in the body of your post. What I do is: Scroll down to where it says "manage attachments." Click on that, and browse for the file you want. Then click upload. Just repeat that for each one you want to post.

I also recommend IrfanView, it's a great program. For posting pics, I use, www.imageshack.us. It's a great and easy website to upload pics. After you upload it, it gives you many link's to paste onto here. Use the link with the [IMG][/IMG] tags.

Thanks again everyone - I think I'm set now - see my "Axxis pads..." I posted just a little while ago. I've got a couple of shots in there but I obviously need some practice. Not sure how to make small file sizes w/decent picture quality just yet. Does starting with a lower resolution help? The one's I took were at very high res... And how do I include pictures as thumbnails instead of in the body of the text?
