Poll:Manual transmission instead of the Automatic with the V-8?
 

If BMW were to offer a manual transmission with the V-8, would you have instead preferred to have a manual transmission instead of the automatic?

We've done this one before, but I agree it would be interesting to do again. I'd take the manual w/the V8 if I could, but if I remember correctly, most folks thought the automatic was better suited to this engine...

For a Z, 3, 5 or 6 series I'd most certainly prefer manual. But for the X5 or 7 series imo auto is the way to go. (I'm torn on the X3).

Don't really have a good rationale why, maybe because eventhough my beloved X5 has a lot of 'get up and go' it's still doesn't have that smaller sporty feel and handling that I would need/want coupled with the manual.
