DAKAR, Senegal (Reuters) - Senegal's rappers pride themselves on having helped change their world six years ago by urging people to vote in elections that ended four decades of rule by one party. It was rap's coming of age in the country.

Hip-Hop has a real power in Senegal, it's doing over there was it was meant to do over here, the voice of the streets especially for people between the age of 15 to 45 years old. It's really been interesting how in the past few years, rappers have become ambassadors of the truth and social workers b/c of power of their lyrics.
For people like me who live abroad but are that still really attached to our home country, listening to the new rap tube is basically a way of connecting with the country's problems.
