Anyone going to Oktoberfest?
 

Ive been over here for what seems like a million years and have never been...Well dammit, this year I'm (more than likely ;)) going....Will be the first time for Munchen as well...

If all goes well I will be there, not for opening day though. I made that mistake one to many times.

I really want to go this year for the first time but the wife wants us to visit Paris:rolleyes: Still trying to negotiate a compromise.;)

My son & I will be there for opening weekend. We're staying at the military resort Edelweiss Lodge in Garmish and taking the train to Munich each day. I just bought a phone to use for my periodic Europe trips & if you send me a private message I'll give you my phone # & we can meet there.

Don't waste your time and money going to Paris. It is a dirty city and the locals are rude as hell.

How far is Eidelweiss from Munich? I didnt think about staying there...Might be cheaper than staying on the economy...

I think it's about an hours train ride. Are you military? There might be rooms still available but I reserved mine about a month ago and just the $159/night loft suites were open. Here's the link to Edelweiss:

Yep, sounds like an X5 get-together!!! Would it be proper though with such a vast amount of beer at our disposal??? :)

I'm DOD...But Im going to be doing some clubbing too, so I might just find a "cheapo" B&B nearby hopefully...Its not like Im actually going to be sleeping or anything during the weekend..:rofl:
