Remember her? She's leaped off the deap end... :loco:

This is just similar to any other politician. See the other threads discussing politicians stepping on their crank in public.

She was talking to a Baptist newspaper, and she talked up her faith. Shocking? I don't think so. It's called playing to your audience. Thousands of other politicians across time have done exactly the same thing. The only difference is now you have all those anti-Republican attack websites to bring it to your attention (and consequently, ours). Relax. Hell, you're not even in her district, what are you worried about?

This is not similar to what I've heard any other politician say or do! Having faith and saying that't important to you is one thing, but completely going against what the US forefathers desired with a separation of chuch and state? She's just wrong.

There are several religous politicians, some of which are clergy. I can't recall any of them calling the separation of church and state a lie. This is one of the foundations of this country and for a politician to attack that is truly the wrong message IMO.

Her's is just another opinion. But i wonder how she would do debating on some of the political threads we see around here.:dunno: Perhaps she could offer some inciteful answers to the Conservatives have a better voting future post.:nanana:

You're missing the forest for the trees. I'm not saying that the specifics of what she said are mainstream or normal, I'm saying that no one should be surprised that she "tailored" her responses to fit her intended audience. Remember, you weren't her intended audience during the interview. You can't even say with certainty that she really believes what she said. She's a politician - how do you know when a politician's lying? They're talking...

Are you honestly telling me that no other politician has ever said something for one audience that sounded completely nutty to those outside of that audience? Please... "Chocolate city" indeed.

Rebo: Be worried. Be very worried. Do not pass "Go", do not collect $200, do not engage with Fidel5327 on this, you've already lost...;)

She is a total nutter. Her nickname is Krazy Kitty Katherine. Dubya and Jeb quietly asked that she not run.

Google "rhyan metzler", the latest party loyalist to get thrown under her bus. We recently got a ranting pleading mailing from her. Not one good policy idea, just "Kill Hillary" scrawled in red lipstick.

Quite nice and charming in person, heart in the right place, but she's gone off the deep end.

Trust me on this one. Mention her name in a group of RPOF donors and everyone shuffles uncomfortably and stares at their shoes.

I agree w/Rebound...she's simply a politician
tailoring her remarks to cover all bases and,
to drag out the "moral majority" ( ), for her vote.

I used to think she was kind of a semi-hot, MILF,
back in the hanging chad days...in a barfly, before-the-lights
go-on, sorta way.

Your basic politician would be "for" nearly anything that
got he or she, a couple of votes and another 30 sec.
vid bite on the all news/all blather channels.

What I'm saying is no politician has blasted went against our forefathers and the foundations of this country for a particular audience.

Tailoring comments for an audience makes since, hence making a comment like "I make many decisons based on my faith" etc. However, calling the seperation of church and state a lie - is not a tailored statement, it's wrong (or worse).

"Chocolate city" is a good example of a tailored (however misguided when taken out of context). But, is common reference for any city composed of over 35% african-american population. Atlanta and D.C. are also typically called chocolate cities.

The big difference is one attacks the foundation of the country in a broad sense. The other, speaks to the people of a specific city in a specific and defined way.

I see the forest and the trees, but I see the other elements too.

Still is. Even up close. Nice smile, sparkly eyes. "Toight" as Wanger would say.
And she's about 5'-3" with legs like an aerobics instructor.

A really crazy aerobics instructor.

Edit: And her chads still hang nicely...

Eric5273 08-25-2006 02:42 PM

What's funny is that the 2 people she is running against in the primary are a minister and the son of a pastor, and even they both think she has gone off the deep end with this one.
