What Would You Do? Parents' Worst Nightmare
What Would You Do? Parents' Worst Nightmare.
It's one of the most unbearably thorny questions a parent ever faces -- what would you do if it happened to your child? On Wednesday, Connecticut attorney Jonathon Edington, 29, was charged with first degree murder for allegedly stabbing his neighbor to death after his wife told him that the man had molested their 2-year-old daughter, according to Edington's bond attorney, Mickey Sherman. Edington was released on a $1 million bond -- a rare move in a capital murder case, experts said. The family of the victim, Barry James, 58, released a statement Thursday vigorously denying the abuse charges. Still, the arrest made headlines across the country and reawakened the national debate on child sexual abuse and vigilante justice. Nearly 85,000 children were sexually abused in the United States in 2004, the most recent statistics available, according to the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System. To gain a better understanding of what parents go through when this happens to their child, ABC News' Law & Justice Unit spoke with seven families about the horror of learning their child had been sexually molested, and the subsequent struggle with sometimes burning desires for immediate relief. so sad that things like that happens, just hope that it never happens to my kids or to anyone else kids:mad: http://dailynews.att.net/cgi-bin/new...060901&src=abc |
I would have done the same thing, but I would have made a phone call to get it done instead of getting my own hands dirty.
There's a Grisham novel about this happening in the south... |
Actually I'd have had him arrested, I believe child molesting is a minimum 20 years in most states with no reductions. You can only kill someone once, making them live in hell for 20 years is much more satisfying and I would still be free to torment him in prison and help my child recover.

Not sure what I'd do. Prob call the police and beat the guy, but not kill him. child molesters are on the bottom of the totem pole in prison, so that would be a good place for the person.

I'd subdue him, bind his hands and feet, cut his nuts off & call the police/paramedics but I wouldn't kill him.
|
This is where that eye for an eye mentality comes in with me...
I would think long and hard about the worst form of sexual torture he could go through, and make him endure that... Then I would make sure that the removal of his "package" was as slow and painful as possible... F*ckers like this make me furious. If I were to catch the person in the act... he would certainly be dead. |
As badly as I'd want to kill him, I would let the legal system run its course. If I killed him, I would be put in prison, which would just add to my daughter's trauma.
Child molesters should go to prison for life and NEVER be released -- no exceptions. The recidivism rate for this sickness is close to 100%. If released, 99% will DO IT AGAIN. |

You know until I had my first child, I had no idea about the sense of protectiveness a parent has, and that I feel about my son.
My wife and had this discussion recently, her response was to cut his balls off then off him. No hesitation, but then she does have a bit of redneck in her I think. I think mine would be a bullet to the knees, ankles, feet, elbows and wrists. that way, every day would be difficult....... And you know why? because these f#^@@@'s rob the innocence/future of a defenceless human being. |
