Brad Pitt: I'll Marry When Everyone Can

Brad Pitt: I'll Marry When Everyone Can

NEW YORK (AP) - Brad Pitt, ever the social activist, says he won't be marrying Angelina Jolie until the restrictions on who can marry whom are dropped. "Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," the 42-year-old actor reveals in Esquire magazine's October issue, on newsstands Sept. 19.

In the article he reflects on "fifteen things I think everyone should know."

Though Shiloh, the world-famous daughter of Pitt and girlfriend/earth mother Angelina Jolie, hogged much attention upon her birth in May, Pitt says he "cannot imagine life" without adopted children, Maddox, 5, and Zahara, 1.

"They're as much of my blood as any natural born, and I'm theirs," says Pitt. "That's all I can say about it. I can't live without them. So: Anyone considering (adoption), that's my vote."

Pitt, who plays a world traveler in the upcoming drama "Babel," subscribes to a laid-back parenting style.

"I try not to stifle them in any way," he says. "If it's not hurting anyone, I want them to be able to explore. Sometimes that means they're quite rambunctious."

Lucky kids.

"I feel it's really important to have that time to sit and talk to them," he continues. "I really like that last minute before they fade off. And always give them a heads-up before you jerk them out of something. You need to tell them, like, 'You have three more minutes.'"

Thats awesome!

I guess he told Angelina, huh? Tactfully dodged that bullet

That's stupid. Like anyone is going to care what the hell he thinks. NO politician is going to be influenced just because an actor is making that statement. If he thinks his position is influential enough to change national policy then he's truly stupid.

Does Mr. Pitt drive an X5? Think he might be logging on here? Just in case...Hey Brad, if you think you're important enough to influence national policy, get a clue. Nobody gives a shit what you say anyway. If you think otherwise, come to Iron River Wisconsin and we'll discuss it. :kungfu:

Shot out of a cannon this morning, huh Lambeau...You should seriously consider decaf.

Dr_Smith 09-09-2006 07:50 AM

or...maybe...relax a little bit. Seriously, there are MANY MANY people who care what celebs have to say. However, you are entitled to your opinion. ;)

:flex:

I can only imagine what people would right about my opinions if I had the 'Brad Pitt' limelight :) haha.

Lambeau 09-09-2006 07:59 AM

I don't drink coffee. Because of the anniversary of 9/11 it stirs memories and it's hard to ignore the petty bullshit from people like Pitt who think they're more important than any other person. I apologize for my venting but this is my way of dealing with what I kept from the war and my families sacrifice.

Wagner,
They would give you more validation if you were for a REAL football team like the 12 time NFL champion Green Bay Packers!!! :stickpoke

How many NFL Championships have the eaglets won?

We play you Monday Night 2 October in Philly so we'll see then. Too bad you don't have to come to Titletown to play!

Oh no you didn't.....

Cheese heads...nice team there....let's put our hopes in an amazing QB surrounded by horrible players...that should work well....I just hope for Bretts sake he doesn't set a NFL record again for picks. Sadly, interceptions in the NFL are BS since the QB is given the INT whether the ball hit the receiver in the hands or not. Don't worry, we'll beat you down on Oct 2, just like last time.

That's not fair! You're playing dirty. How can I possibly continue to bust your chops after the above post.

I'll get you in another thread. :) I think I'll go start one now.

Lambeau 09-09-2006 08:21 AM

It's too bad he couldn't finish his career with better players around him. He deserves that. You're right about the interceptions. How many of his interceptions last year were off of receivers hands? Probably at least 25%. I'm waiting for the day you guys have to come to Green Bay. If you've never been to Lambeau Field you must see a game there sometime in your lifetime. It's unbelievable. The fans there would for sure treat your fans with respect and dignity unlike Philly fans. What's up with your fans and how they treat other fans? I've been to Philly for a game and it was unbelievable how disrespectful and immature they were. I'm sure you're not like that but why do so many other act like that? Is it an east coast thing? You forgot to mention how many NFL Championships the Eagles won...

Yeah, I'm sure you will if I know you!!!

It's gonna be a difficult weekend with so much of the anniversary on the news and all. Thanks to you all for putting up with me.

Wagner 09-09-2006 08:46 AM

Well that of course would be zero.......

Aside from that sad statistic, we have some pretty amazing playoff numbers. Philly fans are what they are. An entire side of my family is from South Philadelphia, probably one of the worst places in Philly and that is how I was born an Eagles fan. Last game I went to a friend of mine, who is a Giants fan, wore his jersey and I wanted at least 50 people make less the polite comments to him. But you can find rude fans anywhere, go to a NYY baseball game or a B'more Ravens game.

I've been to a game in Kansas City too and the fans were so wonderful. If the fans are like that in New York and Baltimore then it's got to be an east coast thing. You will rarely if ever see rude fans in Green Bay. We appreciate the traditions more than being rude to other fans. I suppose if we had never won a championship we might be rude too!!!

Wagner 09-09-2006 08:52 AM

Oh I guess mooning the opposing team is a nice GB tradition

Yeah but those were Minnesota Vikings! The most hated, dispicable semi-professional team in all of football!!!

Celebrity or not, when someone stands up for equal rights Its very commendable and I respect them, everyone here knows my views on equal rights and I do not need to re-tell them, if other people want to be happy, they deserve too, don't be so close-minded Lam, this has nothing to do with that stupid war so don't pull that crap

That crap? You wouldn't understand anything about sacrifices for this country so you're in no position to call my opinion crap. This is about some actor who thinks he's beter than other people and thinks just because he makes a statement that people must listen. He's no better than you or me in any respect. Next time think before you call what I've done "crap".

blondboinsd 09-09-2006 12:52 PM

I didn't call your post crap *slap* I said don't pull that war crap with me, remember I like you and respect your opinion lol He is just the same but his opinion will reach more people and might make them think twice, that matters to me

If anyone changes their personal views based on Brad Pitt's position, they need to take a long walk on a short pier.

rebound 09-09-2006 05:42 PM

I think Brad Pitt was just letting Angelina know what's up - ain't gettin' hitched anytime soon!

That, or it was the fitty cent imitation - attention grab.

I heard friday they we're getting married?

ylwjacket 09-11-2006 03:44 PM

she must have gotten to him. you can hear it now
her - 'what the hell was that all about'.
him - 'thought i'd take a stand honey'
her - 'nice try slim, tie the knot or take your show on the road. Make an honest woman outta me.'
him - 'well, i am rebuilding Nawlins in an environmentally friendly fashion, single-handedly, so i guess we can let this one slide'
her - 'i'm glad we had this talk dear'
him -'love you honey'

me - 'who the hell cares what fathead, self-righteous celebrities think about anything?'

Tactically sound move on Mr Pitts part....gets to laydown with one of the sexiest women on the planet with no burdens...pretty good deal if you ask me.

I'm with you on that. He's one smart dude.

Quite honestly, why should anyone consider that a threat from Pitt? So what do we care if he chooses to marry or not? That's nothing to hang over anyone's head (except maybe Angelina's).
