They're trying real hard to clean up Coney Island. You don't have to push the prostitutes out of the way to get a hot dog anymore. Put up a ball park for the minors. There was talk about trying to bring casinos in.
Remember that click click click (shouldn't you be doing something John :) ) sound from the cyclone....What a roller coaster.

Spent half my life there and never had the balls to get on that thing...I know, its sacrilege, but screw that...I remember watching the splinters fly off the side while underneath it...Geez..

Cleaning it up, huh? That could actually be some prime property if planned right...I remember being in line at Nathans in the summer of '87 when a full scale shootout took place across Surf Ave..everybody laid down on the ground with their food in their hands..Nobody wanted to drop the dogs!

When was the last time you were in NY? Don't get me wrong, you don't want to be wandering up the side streets but the main drag on Surf is lit up. So is the block where Garguilios Restaurant is.

Alot of the neighborhoods are turning around. You gotta see what's going on down in the low number streets and avenues - is that Park Slope - you know like 6th Street and 7th Ave area. I used to cringe when I went to friends houses down there in HS. Very different now. All yuppies, cafes, restaurants. Who woulda figured...

Oh boy, I went to Ground Zero in the summer of '02, but was only in the city for a week...Before that it was like '98...I plan to go during the X-mas holidays this year, but we'll see.

Yep, thats the Park Slope/Park Heights area...It used to suck down in there, but I knew there had to be potential in all those lovely Brownstone homes down there..I was talking to my sister and she says those homes are all now around 1 - 1.5 million a pop now...Geez..I remember when we moved from the "real" Ghetto downtown and my parents were thinking of moving there...A 6 bed brownstone on 7th Ave was $82,000. They didnt want to be "attached" to anyone else, so they passed...

By the way, Bishop Ford - is that the one that overlooks the Prospect Pkwy? I know it was Bishop something...Its been a while...
