Server OS package,for $649
 

What do you guys think of this server package ? it includes Microsoft® Small Business Server 2003, Standard Edition, I think that for the price $649 it is a good deal what do you guys think?

OK but not that great. Very bare (basic) bones by today's standards. No SCSI or SATA controller. Only one cheap 80gb HD with cheap 512 memory. You can probably build one yourself cheaper.

First of all, what are you using this server for? How many users will be accessing this?

Server = Big RAM and Big HDs

i agreed that the hardware is not good by today standards, but don`t the os alone cost about $500?:dunno: i like Small business edition server 2003 because it comes with exchange server
for now i will only use the server for testing a few things, with about 25 users.

just a few things that i would like to test before i get a nice server..
off site backup, will host about 3 websites, to have access to outlook from any where, save all my dvd`s and mp3 and stream them to all the rooms in the house, would like to tes a WAN with Antivirus server for scanning off site pc`s.....

If it is just you that needs the MOWA access, get Exchange for $6.99 a month at www.1and1.com. I have been using it for 2 years and aside from one 2 days nightmare hardware failure in the spring, it has been flawless. Works great with my Cingular 8125 as well!
