Does this annoy anyone else? Hes saying (from the news this evening, I think this is the correct article) that we should create our own definition of what was stated at the geneva convention as to fair interrogation? How long till our enemys re-view their views as well? I mean is he f*in insane or just THAT stupid? God it makes me ashamed to have him as my leader :mad:

They don't abide by those laws but that's besides the point. The point is our enemy's have changed and so must the rules.

Everyone else abides by it, why are we so special?

But in any event, please tell me about all of our various enemies who have adhered to the Geneva convention.

The Japanese during WWII? Afraid not. They imprisoned our people in hell-hole concentration camps and tortured them.

The North Koreans during the Korean War? The Vietnamese during the Vietnam War? Ask John McCain (who, by the way, can't lift his arms above his head due to the years of beatings he took).

The proposed legislation is an attempt to add specificity to a somewhat vague document. It is not intended to allow carte-blanche torture. If you think the legislation is faulty and needs to be amended, then please propose modifications. But don't whine like an ignorant little school boy about something you haven't even studied.

The POINT is we're already hated and for good reason, if we REALLY think it needs to be changed we should work with the other countries not just do it alone, that is why we are so disliked in the first place, also we ALSO imprisoned japanese people in internment camps or we're you playing hookie that day your class went over that?

They already humiliate them by cutting their throats on tv...cutting their heads off and dumping them on the side of the road. Go watch the video of Nick Berg's decapitation and tell me that you think we should still abide by those laws. I personally think we should have carte blanche.
