Need help w/bank account for kid...
 

So, my son tells me that he want to open a savings account just to save up to buy some things. He said he wanted one that was a mastercard type. He has $300 and more will come from b'day and such. My question is which kind and where in the northeast is the best place to open one... Btw, he is 16 :)

Tell him, I'll hold onto the money for him.. Banks get robbed.. But nobody robs B-line... And when he needs some scratch, he can come visit. Maybe do some chores around the place for a couple extra bucks.

In North East try TD bank north. everything is free there. No fees for anything. And the minimum balance is like 25 dollars on savings accounts

I think most banks/credit unions offer a debit card/credit card for their accounts. We got one for my son when he went on a school trip. (He thought he was pretty cool bustin' out the plastic to pay for things...)
