Laguna Beach--SoCal's "Mexican Riviera"

Well, anyone from SoCal already knows this area. However, a couple weekends ago, the CEO & I took a getaway to Laguna Beach. There is this beautiful resort hotel called the Montage Hotel which is built along the cliffs of Laguna Beach. The hotel was built with the "arts & crafts" style of architecture. All the rooms there have a ocean view there.

Maybe we can have West Fest V there next year....

Apparently, there was a wedding ceromony there (hmmm, just in case someone is thinking of a place to get married....)

Enjoy the pics....:)

Montage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite hotel! I believe its called California Craftsman, I remember when it opened in 2003, its by my favorite hotel in Laguna, the restaurant used to be very hard to get into but I think its improved since

Beautiful  The last place I stayed at in Laguna Beach was the Surf & Sand Resort. I loved their restaurant because it is literally right on the sand. Remember our dinner in Laguna Beach? Damn, that was fun!

Never knew how nice it was there.

Looks like a great place to stay but i was just curious as to why it would be called the "Mexican Riviera" if it's in California and especially along the SoCal coast which has set it's own standard of Riviera so to speak?:dunno:

I've spent a lot of time in Laguna since the early 80s. Love it! Lived in Newport for 3 years. Hated it! :)

What did you hate about Newport??

Yup, been to the Surf & Sand resort before and their restaurant. I got some good pics from there 3 years ago.

Yeah, I remember our dinner in LB. In fact, that Montage hotel is across the street from where we had our WF 2.5 mini-meet.

I know, that's funny. That is how Laguna Beach promotes itself. However, remember, at one time, California was part of Mexico until Zorro freed it!
