I doubt he's really dead - but I can see how it would be beneficial to him if the world thought he was dead...

Been dead since the first week of bombing in Afghanistan.

That is likely as well. Everyone seemed to think he was dead back in 2002, but then they all suddenly changed their minds and brought him back to life.

I don't believe Pakistan's Musharraf or any news till they find his dead body. My guess he is playing Xbox with his kids :rofl: somewhere in Pakistan and Musharraf is helping him.

The CIA has been "certifying" that the voice on the tapes is OBL, as recently as late August 2006. He might be dead now, but his death was probably recent.

Does it really matter? It's background noise. The fight is far from being with him.

If he's proven to be dead, a lot of the 'fight' goes out of Al Qaeda's junior operatives.

Close ones aren't the ones their worried about. When is the last time Bin Laden was out on a suicide attack :)

So far I have seen nothing to indicate that these terrorist groups suffer any harm when their leaders are killed. If anything, it seems to motivate them and we see more attacks from them, not less.

According to the Pentagon report released earlier this month, in the 3 months since al-Zarqawi was killed (June-August), the number of attacks in Iraq has increased by 24% to 792 per week compared with 641 per week during the previous 3 month period.
