Put my deposit down this morning on a PS3. I was lucky enough to go to an EB Games before work this morning and was number 10 in line. Didn't get the $600 premium version, but I did get the $500 standard model. As far as I know, the only difference is a smaller hard drive and built-in WiFi. Can't wait till I get it.

Im still debating on getting it, $500 is kinda steep I may just wait to play it or if I get a chance to get it early I'll throw it on ebay

Yeah, luckily Sony didn't delay the US launch like they did in Europe. Official US launch is Nov 17th, so hopefully I'll get mine sometime that weekend.

Because only 400k are available to the entire US, most EBgames/Gamestop stores had a minimum of 8 per store. I guess everybody else will have to camp out at BestBuy, Target, Circuit City to get there's.

Funny, how I was one of the only few who actually plays video games. Everyone else that was in line either was trying to make a quick buck on eBay or were parents trying to get one for their children for XMas.

I want one for me damn it.. :) I'm a huge gamer.. These game console flippers drive me nuts.
As for the parents getting it for the kids for Xmas, I think that's super cool. I don't remember my parents waiting out on line, in the cold, all night, to get me an intellivision for crying out loud.. Then again, I'm Jewish and we don't celebrate Christmas ... lol..

I hear that all of these guys have disclaimers on their ability to actually deliver when they come out and considering there are 4400 Gamestop/EB games stores in the US that comes to 8 along with all the Toy R Us/CircutiCity/Best Buys and such I heard a more realistic number on launch day is as low as 2 per store from a friend in Consumer electronics. They may be able to deliver more before Christmas but they are having yield problems on the lasers as well as overheating issues and cell processor problems.

I'll wait till version 2.0 comes out before burning bucks on these babies. Got burned on the PS2 after waiting all evening till midnight at a Best Buy the last time and the thing kept dying, took it back and they had a 60% return rate due to various problems.

AJ if you get stuck for one let me know we should have volume before EU, unfortunatly m8 I get one in the US I believe region coding is obviously an issue as well as NTSC output but I remember you have a good TV so you should be OK there. Just game supplies an issue and movies.

The $600 one has wifi and SD card slot as well.

I went to 8 EB Games today from 6am-10am....way too many ppl camping it ~!!! And I bet you 80% of them are just going to resell them on ebay, dam ba$tard$
