Useless Complaint...ATM's

OK, Ive been out of NYC for years, but obviously NYC is still inside of me...

When I reach a traffic light, and theres a gas station or parking lot that will allow me to "skip" to the right turn, Im gone..Maybe thats not normal..Ill buy that..

But somethings just bug the living f(&# out of me. I use ATM's almost on a daily basis...The sequence goes a little something like this...

1. Step up to the machine.
2. Insert the card.
3. 4-digit code.
4. "Withdrawl, or Deposit, or Acct Balance, Whatever.
5. Checking, or Savings
6. Take the loot.
7. Get the f(&# out of the way.

Yesterday, after being third in line and waiting for approx. 10 minutes, I HAD to do it. I HAD to TIME myself doing the same thing I figured everyone else was doing. I typed in the wrong code, and had withdrawn $40 in 33 seconds. WITH typing in the wrong code. WTF ARE THESE PEOPLE DOING IN FRONT OF THE ATM FOR 2-3 MINUTES?!?!?! 30 SECONDS! THATS ALL IT TAKES, RIGHT?! SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME IM BEING STUPID!! :banghead: I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! :dunno:

Here's another one; what about when someone is in line in front of you at the grocery store, and they wait until their entire load is scanned and then and only then do they begin to look for their credit card to begin the process of swiping it etc... It pisses me off every time. If they swiped their card while the checker was scanning their groceries, all they would have to do is hit "yes" when the checker is done! Or take the same example above, and the person waits until until all items are scanned and then they pull their checkbook out  .

Those people at the ATM's are simply computer illiterate dorks.

There's instances where people at toll booths take HOURS to come up with the correct toll. Ya know, either they pull up and stop at the toll booth, then put the car in park, reach into the backseat to pull out a wallet/purse, take their sweet time finding $3, but oh they can't find $3. So they end up pulling out a 20, and the cashier now has to find $17 in change. The worst was when apparently some guy 4 cars in front of us on the NJ Turnpike pulled a $100 or something and it took forever to get appropriate change for a <$5 toll. ROARRR!!! 1) You know you're gonna be driving a toll road; get some small bills ready before you leave. 2) If you have a passenger, ask them to get the toll ready BEFORE pulling up to the toll plaza 3) There's tons of people behind you.......this isnt take your sweet time. and 4) Get EZ-Pass if you live in the Northeast.

Accelerating from toll booths is fun though :driver:

I pay a $6 toll everyday on the way home from work. When I get in the car in the morning, I put the $6 in my visor. It's even better when the lazy asses already waited on line and couldn't get the money out then. People are RUDE!

There are few things that get under the skin of the CEO but this one does it. Me? It's folks that dig for the .67 cents in their purse, coin purse, pocket or whatever to satisfy a $ 9.67 bill and have to count each and every coin to make sure it's just right instead of giving the clerk a $10.00 bill. Arggggg. (And of course they drop some of the change on the floor)

YES! YES! YES! But you know what? I did that just the other day, and the cashier aborted the swipe, because she said Im not supposed to swipe before the total is "rung" up. :dunno: So I had to start over again anyway for whatever reason...

Actually I was pub crawling that night..I was two pints down and on my way to another pub which probably added to the frustration..:drunk: But still. I mean, since when can you apply for a mortgage at an ATM machine?

Hey - I agree 150%. I know what buttons to push and I'm outta there in no time flat. I love it when the person in front of you CAN'T get money out and insists on trying over and over again. Then tells you don't bother - the machine doesn't work. Uhhhh, let's see.. you need money in there to take money out.

Some folks go the the ATM just to see how much money they have left. When the see the balance I guess they can't believe it so they stand there, scratch their heads and ponder the universe or what ever. Then they walk away in some cases leaving their ATM card behind. Very productive.
