The NBA is serious about enforcing its no whining policy.
It's gonna be an interesting NBA season. Tossing players out of the game is gonna be the rule rather than the exception.
Coaches and players were briefed on the policy in preseason meetings with referees and other league officials. Players are fined $1,000 for each of their first five technicals, $1,500 each of the next five, $2,000 each for five after that and then $2,500 for each technical starting with the 16th. A one-game suspension also comes at that point and for every technical thereafter. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns |
Yea it's been noticed since the start and a few players actually got ejected during preseason.
I agree that players whined and complained way too often but this zero tolerance policy is a bit overboard, they kick out Rasheed Wallace for raising his arms in question, Carmelo heading to the bench and throwing his headband towards his bench out of frustration completely away from the play and not on the court...yet Sam Cassell does not get a T for arguing or disputing a call w. Steve Javie for 5 minutes, it's just BS....if your going to make up this rule make sure you call it fairly to everyone, not just cuz someone is a 100 year veteran |
