Flying Question

Our family is flying to Germay this week and when the plane lands I have terrible ear pain from the pressure change. I have tried gum, swollowing etc. What is the best way to equalize pressure in your ear? Will have pix when I return.

Hold nose, blow through nose gently before and during descent. Just like scuba diving.

Agree, or the thing that worked for my son for a while was those ear plugs you can buy but it being so long ago I can't remember the name of them. Sorry.

I believe the ear plugs you are talking about are not "plugs" but rather "pressure plugs".. Meaning they do not plug the ear, they are more "straw" like and allow pressure to release.

Where as an ear plug would be what you might wear at a concert. A pressure plug is what you wear on a plane.

Thanks B, its been 10 years since my son had to use them so the synapses have been used for other purposes since then.

Brand name "ear planes" Most drug stores have them. Has worked great for my wife and daughter even when "stuffed up" from a cold.

Afrin nasal spray and oral Sudafed can also help a lot.
