X5 warm climate

I notice that a number of members have X5's in warm climates.

The all wheel drive is a big plus in the snow but not so sure that I would get it if I lived somewhere warm.

I assume that most of you don't go off road and was wondering what made you decide to get a SAV?

Remember x54.4blue, it is a Sport Activity Vehicle not a Sport Utility Vehicle that means BMW designed it for every environment not just off road.

You could ask the same question of any SAV/SUV owner on the planet, I think it boils down to needs, wants, form and functionality even if the vehicle is capable of more.

I got an SAV because it handled so much better than the Sno-Cat we were driving...

LOL indeed it would!

Some Thoughts

1) Any 4 wheel drive system adds weight and take additional power

2) The height of SUV or SAV raises the center of gravity and make corning more difficult.

3) I love my X5 but would not own it if I lived in Florida unless I need to tow heavy loads like my boat.

But that's just me.
