Workin on a new "mod"... suggestions?

Expecting a bouncing baby boy in about 2 weeks... :dancing:

Anyone know of any good car seats befitting a fine ride like the X5?

Get a Recaro :D

Oh wait, looks like they only have child seats and not baby seats. Oh well... get a Recaro for when he grows up.

Congrats on the "upgrade" ;)

As far as safety is concerned there are lots of good baby buckets out there. I've found that not all of them fit well in the X5 though. If you go with the latch system you need to be concerned with the curved cushion portion of the seat near the doors. The base of some kid seats don't clear the cushion so don't line up properly with the latch anchors.

The safest place for baby is the center seat but you can't use the latch system there so you give up some convenience. Small price to pay IMO.

Measure the clearance and go shopping with a tape measure.

Probably too late now, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I have 2 Eddie Bauer sits in the back of my X5 - a rear facing seat for my 3 months old son and a convertible forward facing seat for my 2 year old daughter. They fit in there just fine, but there is no room there for much of anything else. Britax makes some of the best seats out there, but to be honest, Eddie Bauer seats have improved dramatically and don't give anything up to Britax, at half the cost. If I were just getting one seat - I would have considered a Britex; since I had to get 4 seats (2 kids x 2 cars), the price difference was really apparent. FWIW.
