Duh! One of the articles posted on the website says the driver had purchased the car earlier that same day as the crash. He owned this vehicle for only several hours before nearly killing himself and his friend. :confused:

To crash this car like that he must have gone fast. You need to know that the "Promenade des Anglais" in Nice is part of down town Nice. This is pure craziness and stupidity in my opinion to go that fast in down town Nice at 3pm. I do not care much about him but he could have kill many people including kids over there at that time of the day. :rolleyes:

All that needed to happen to crash that car was a little cool weather/road and tires (tires don't grip well when cold), and a heavy right foot, in combination with a slight tug on the wheel to the right or left at the wrong moment.

My friends laugh at me, but I won't take the vette out in the cold weather not because I'm overly protective of the car, but because 405HP in the cold weather on cold tires and a cold road could very easily result in the car getting sideways VERY VERY quickly, despite the traction control and active handling.

yup. Hell I can get the CS sideways pretty much whenever I want and it doesn't have torque like Ron's Z06. BTW, the fcars and lambo's ARE designed to split in 2 in high speed crashes. It's to keep the passengers safe in the tub.

But Gresch, this is Nice, the French riviera. There is no cold weather over there. Did you see the palm trees? The last time I can remember about Nice having got snow was during winter 1984.. extremely unusual. But you are right, losing control on a car like this one is very easy. I still think this is irresponsible though. As I said many pedestrian walk on the "Promenade des Anglais" in Nice.

I wasn't saying that cold was the cause in this case, I was manking an analogy that even with traction control and active handling on a 405HP vette it's easy to get the car sideways, so it's probably even easier in an Enzo despite the conditions (no TC and AH right?)

I remember when picking up my E38 750 from my stealer, there was some dude picking up a brand new S55 (the supercharged version). I stayed to chat with the sales manager .... The S55 left , drove 1 mile up the road, turned onto a twisty small road off the main highway, and another 0.5 miles later wraps himself around a tree and cement wall :confused: :tsk: It's nice to know these people spending $110,000 can handle their cars ...:rolleyes:
