Where the hell are these places?

Where in relation to anything a West Coaster might have heard of are these two places located? I can look on a map but you don't any real sense of distance or proximity. Can some locals fill me in and give me the poop on these places?

Big Flats, NY
Wallingford, CT

I am asking because a buddy of mine is currently on tour with, hold on to your beards, ZZ Top. Yes, those old geezers are still rockin' state fairs, casinos, and the odd arena. I was thinking of meeting up with him and hittin' the road, living the life of a rock star. These are two stops that are during the date range that works best for me. I know ZZ Top is not the band to be touring with. Believe me, I'd rather be on tour with Jessica Simpson or some other hot little songbird. I could become the next Chris Judd/ex-Mr. J. Lo. I missed out on the Hilary Duff and Ashlee Simpson tours he worked. (Yes, I'd hit both of those talentless marketing committee creations.) I did not want any part of the Elton John tour he worked recently.

Thanks for any info.

Big Flats is just west of Elmira and Wallingford is just north of New Haven.

Wallingford CT is a short 1hr 45min drive from NYC.

Wallingford is approx. ½-hour south of where the Hartford Whalers used to play, less than one hour south of Bradley International Airport, which is a user-friendly, nice little airport. If you'd rather take a train, it's less than ½-hour north of the Amtrak station in New Haven. :D

Wallingford is also approx. one hour west of Mohegan Sun, 1½-hours west of Foxwoods, less than 2 hrs. northeast of NYC, slightly more than 2 hrs. southwest of Boston, and less than 2 hrs. west of Providence.

Big Flats is in the Southern Tier of upstate NY, south of the so-called Finger Lakes Region. It's approx. 45 mins. west of where my son currently lives, 1½ hours west of Greater Binghamton Airport, and 3½ hours southwest of Labatt Country (Albany). I'd call the Big Flats area quite rural. Quite.

She's definitely got legs. Clearly, she knows how to use them.

Wallingford,CT is civilization, mostly.
Big Flats, NY, as V/K 'splained, is next to nowheresville, but I have actually been "by it" many times on M'cycle rides up Rt 17.

This Lounge is more fun than most of the sites I visit, combined, :D BR,md

Kevin,

For the record, I saw ZZtop at Madison Square Garden in 1991. It was probably one of the most fun concerts I ever went to. Second only to seeing Pink Floyd at the Ohio State Horseshoe in 1994 and the Grateful Dead at Buckeye lake in 1993.
