lane-splitting is perfectly legal in CA and having been a former biker with 2 very fast ducati's I've done my share of it. I don't see anything wrong with it if done in a safe manner... some guys in cars think otherwise but probably purely because well.. they CAN'T do it..

I don't lane split and you DON'T want to that in this country. 99% of car, bus and jeepney drivers have no respect for bikers here. Just recently, an Aussie expat was killed as he was about to exit the expressway to a gas station when a public bus swerved pinning him down.

Correct except for the last part. I don't know of anyone who drives a car that thinks it OK. And it's not because "they CAN'T do it" It's because it's just dumb.....PERIOD. Even if i were a biker I wouldn't do it. Not with the way people drive these days...... Those who damage your car speed off into the sunset like.....Oh well you deal with it...I'm gone....

Philly is filled with moronic bike riders...they really give a bad name to cycle enthusiasts...its riders like that that make car drivers hate cycle riders which is very unfortunate. Cycle riders should obey the same rules of the road as other vehicles unless its an emergency situation.

I do miss JV though...
