Godspeed, Mr. Brown.

he's a great entertainer, but i don't think that a gun toting, drug addict, wife beater will be knocking on the pearly gates anytime soon....

Perhaps but I'm glad I'm not the one who makes that decision.;)

None of us "earn" our way into heaven. If so, none of us would ever get there. We all know Brown's very public failings. What we don't know is his private beliefs and soul. I am quite reluctant to judge a man's eternal destination without hearing from him what he actually believes.

he beat 2 of his wives.... while high on PCP he threatened a hotel full of common folk with a shotgun and then then led police on a wild car chase... as i said, great entertainer, not so great of a human being. and yeah, i'm judging him, because if 1 of his wives that he beat were your sister, would you feel the same way? he's just a guy who can entertain, it doesn't give him a free pass on being a dbag when he's not working.

Never said I liked him, admired him, or thought he was a good person. I just said your comment regarding his eternal damnation was inappropriate, based on lack of info. You simply cannot say that. You are not empowered to make that judgement.

Never said eternal, just not anytime soon ;) maybe he had last rights, he could be on the express bus to st. peter as we speak..... who knows.

one other thing, the big reason that they gave him the 6 years sentence was that he tried to run down 2 cops when they finally got him pulled over in Atlanta... so add attempted murder of 2 Police Officers to his rap sheet.

All of that being said, I wish him no ill will, I just don't like the adulation that is heaped on entertainers when they pass away after leading abominable private lives. (not saying that you did that either, i'm just saying in general)

1 other thing, Sharpton called him his " 2nd father" in the NY papers today, if that's not enough for St. Peter to ignore the door bell by guilt through association then I don't know what is! Maybe once the REVEREND Al apologizes to the 2 NYPD Detectives whose lives he ruined by falsely accusing them in the Tawana Brawley case, then I might think better of him.

Hey, not fair! Don't bring up the illustrious Rev Al! You will have me agreeing with you before you get too far! ;)

sorry, he makes my stomach turn, and he's been in all of the NY papers crying crocodile tears for JB just to keep his face in the papers.
