Anyone tested the new 335? I heard is compared to M3.....

I haven't seen a direct E46 M3 vs 335 review yet in any publications, but I imagine it is very much under way. They should be very closely related in straight line times (at least more so then previous 3 series vs Ms) however, I'm pretty sure on the track...stock for stock..the M will be the obvious winner.

...but for most of us, what it can do on the track isn't that important. From what I've heard, the 335 is a very close match (performance wise) to the M3 - especially on the street. It should have a better ride to boot. Are you thinking of having a look Cat? I might have a look at these when the weather gets a bit better around here...

I went to the dealer today to ask about the coolant low level on my X5 and I was jocking about exchanging my X for a brand new M3 color laguna Seca (love that color) with the manager (they know me already - been there lot of times) and e told me that I should try the new 335. I personally don't like the outside look, but maybe I change my mind when I drive it. I have to go back on saturday, let see waht happends!!!!

I've been in a 335i manual and have driven a 335i automatic. With acceleration figures so close if not matching the E46 M3, a comparison between the two is inevitable. The 335i has monsterous torque and a more V8-like sounding exhaust note, which is some people's tastes. If I had to pick between the two beautiful automobiles, my nod goes to the M3. The 335i lacks an LSD, which can make cornering iffy. I don't miss the extra torque and prefer the high-strung character of the E46 M3. Plus the E46 is styled better and has a more driver-oriented interior than the plain jane-straight-off-another-3-series interior.

I have a 335 on order for March/April delivery... Auto with paddle shifters. I test drove the 335 Mcoupe and Cayman, 335 wins for me, that Mcoupe was to tight and did not have some of the options the 335 had. Cayman handled better but cost 15k more and you cant even open the hood without special tools.

The 335 is too indistinguishable from other 3 series' looks wise.

Remember she is comparing it to the M3, not M Coupe. I wasn't aware you needed special tools for the Cayman...that is just silly.

my neighbor has one and i think it's gorgeous!!

at first i was hesitant, but it really has grown on me.
