Yeah, I was watching her little congressional acceptance speech. It will be interesting to see how the country reacts when congress raises taxes to cover the Bush cuts :)

The reasons that the Democrats have the majority in the House & Senate is that people wants the U.S. Gov't to do something about the Iraq war. We'll see if the Democratic majority congress will do something different with the Iraq war. Hopefully, they won't bicker among themselves.

Otherwise, I am sure certain people are positioning themselves for 2008!

It doesn't appear that anything much will happen at all. Ms. Pelosi has yet to say anything concrete about the war. Her statements have been rather vague, somewhat similar to Hillary Clinton and Harry Reid.

Calling for the withdrawal of the troops from Iraq means nothing if there is no date or time period given. I don't think there is a single person in American that doesn't agree that we should bring the troops home at some point in the future. So making such a statement is just a bunch of hot air. :stfu:


I just hope that some of the true liberals in congress put enough presure on these 2 weak and rather moderate majority leaders (Pelosi & Reid) that they actually push through some change in policy regarding Iraq. But I'm not very hopeful.

Hey were talking about politicians correct? Seems to me many people today have a poor opinion of politicians as a class. Not only do people oftentimes disagree with their policies, they are sometimes seen as unscrupulous, willing to do anything to gain power, or abusive of their position and privileges. So what's to expect? Just more of the same.

Personally I'm waiting for a flush out of "baby boomer" blood from politics.....no offense to any.

To me it is always the same old white guys (or girls in this case) doing the same crap. I think when I finally gave up the ghost with these guys is when I was backing John McCain 8 years or so ago and then he gets beat out by Bush, and with in minutes McCain was saying how great Bush would be for the country. That is a bunch of BS.

Side Note, did you all catch how the Sup. Justices are saying justice salaries are just too low to live off of, they start at $165,000 and go up to the low $200,000. Gosh, life sure is hard for them. IMO, get the hell off the bench then you low class piece. If the dollar was more important to you then serving your role as a judge...by all means....get out.
