Still a long time Toffee supporter (Everton). Used to live in Southport (crappy 4th division team nearly relegated to oblivion every season in the 70's).

Still miss going to a game. Two good Brit friends here in the States support relatively unchallenged teams like Chelsea and Liverpool.

Southport e'hh go there a good bit and the guy that installs any ice stuff in our motors his place is in Formby.??? we get the train into Southport and love the Iron structures that go over the pavements what do you call them??? looks vistorian to us.

Ahhh Wayfarers arcade that brings back childhood memories! Go to the Cambridge arcade or Chapel street by the station? I remember Formby thats for sure but my Dad told me PleasureLand closed down recently, apparently its more expensive to holiday in the UK for Brits than it is to go abroad. Used to ride to Wigan from Meols Cop station on Norwood Road with my Nan who is now 92 and lives near York. I still have some cousins in Southport and get back maybe every 2 years now that folks have died off. All the ironworks over Lord Street I still remember well, it seems to have gone downhill since we joined Sefton as Lancashire used to take care of Southport a lot better and it seems the Sefton Council looks upon certain areas of SouthPort as a dumping ground for overspill from the rough areas of Liverpool North now:damn:
