Creating DVD's

Hi guys
I have a few home made movies on my computer that I wanna put on a DVD-R. What's a good program to do so. These movies are already on my hard drive so I just need to transfer them on to a disc. Thanks!

Nero is pretty good. It has a movie making component. You can probably use the Microsoft Movie Maker software that is pretty standard with XP. It all depends on how much editing and production you want. Those two will be very basic.

One of the more comprehensive programs is Adobe Premier but it is pretty complex and probably beyond what you need for your project.

Thanks, I tried using the Microsoft Movie Maker but it takes 4ever to burn the freaking thing, then after an hour it gave me an error message. Do you know if the free trial of nero will allow me to burn the DVD. It's not like I'm going to do this often so I didn't wanna break the bank.

I make dvd's of all our holidays etc with motion menu's, intro screens, with photos blended in as stills. Everything I use has come from this site here.

Go to tools, (in the red 'lists' section) then select 'authoring dvd' from the subjects in red. You'll then see some 40 or so different programs you can use that have a description, link to download, reviews (if any) and price/freeware details.

There are also a lot of tutorials on how to use these programs or to use a combo to get what you want.

The forum is a great resource for advice if you want to browse....

Cheers

John
