Guess I'm just not a fan of station wagons.

Curious Joel 01-10-2007 03:35 PM

That'd be a hell of a wagon though. I think it would just be fun to have a car like that, especially if it was debadged. You could kick people's asses and they wouldn't know what hit them!

Wagner 01-10-2007 03:57 PM

Ugh, either way it is a station wagon.

True, but hey.. if you need the utility, and have $90,000+ to spend on a wagon...

Talk about a select buyer.

Hah yeah.. Not as select as the Mercedes R63 AMG, though. They're expecting to sell.. what, 200 of those a year? I think they'll have trouble with that. Nobody is going to buy an expensive, performance minivan.

pm_belo 01-10-2007 04:21 PM

:imnew:
Maybe it’s just a “wagon” like the AUDI RS6…….
But it’s a wagon with over 500 bhp!!!!

Probably for you guys in US it’s just a “wagon”… but for us in Europe it’s a “Ferrari eater”
:nanana:

:iagree: I can't imagine anything more fun than kicking a Ferrari's butt in a station wagon with all the luggage in the back and whatnot.

pm_belo 01-10-2007 04:37 PM

One of my friends here in Switzerland has a MERCEDES E 55 AMG “WAGON” modified by Carlsson, and they’ve put 700bhp in that “wagon” .
I'ts a "wagon" limited to 320 Km/h

hahahahahaha.

motordavid 01-10-2007 04:57 PM

If it ever was offered here in the US, I'd be very surprised
if they sold more than a dozen or, two...it's a niche filled,'
that no one really asked for, imo.

Starts at $88,175.
Who's going to pay that much for a minivan? There can't be that many soccer moms with a need for speed.. And even less who are going to spend that much anyway.

streetsoffire 01-10-2007 05:21 PM

There is nothing like running down coupes in a wagon. I do it all the time; G35s, 350ZXs, Stangs -------- all while I have a child seat in the rear of the S6.

noncom23 01-10-2007 05:24 PM

Ah oh.

streetsoffire 01-10-2007 05:27 PM

Yeah, I know its comin' soon.......

Beautiful car. I am with the Europeans, wagons are definitely cool. North Americans can't get the image of Vista Cruisers and Country Squires out of their minds, IMO.

My ideal vehicle would be a 535T, BMW Individual (with M5 extended leather), rwd, with the twin-turbo 3.0, manual trans, and M Sport kit (looking just like the M5), plus an XEDE, and with the roof rails added back on to carry the bikes. Can't convince my wife, but she has agreed to a 2007 X3.

Can't justify an M5 based on fuel consumption and overabundance of electronics, but the look is fantastic.

:iagree: Hopefully Americans will finally get sick of the Suburbans, Hummers, and Expeditions of this world. AWD wagons are so much more practical.

Wagner 01-10-2007 06:15 PM

Well...X5 rest in peace then :(

When the US petrol prices will be the same that in Europe (5 dollars the gallon) they will start loving the European “wagons” and DIESEL.
