Good luck to him. Always been a fav player of mines. Noticed on the news the other night he is driving about in a Q7 wonder what his choice of motor will be in the states.

Ohhhhh Yeah... I've heard of soccer. To keep the crowds interested, you have to serve lots of beer and make sure there are lots of fist fights..

BTW...Beckham is one of my favorite all-time players (this old American Football player actually loves to watch international soccer) and if anyone can raise the profile of MLS, it's him.

I know they have god like status in the UK... I believe they are more popular than the Royal Family or something.

Unquestionably, he's got some skills -- and he's a brilliant marketer. He will sell a ton of Galaxy tickets. To say he will "save" MLS, however, is probably a reach. What MLS needs is a few "Beckhams" who will give the league credibility, visibility, and international-caliber competition.

That being said, kudos to Becks; I hope this will encourage more world-class players to play in the MLS.
